WARNING: NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN WITH YOUR TELESCOPE WITHOUT APPROPRIATE FILTERS IN PLACE. PERMANENT AND IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE TO YOUR EYES AND YOUR EQUIPMENT WILL OCCUR.
With solar observation, there are different methods you will use, depending on the type of telescope you want to use and the features you want to see on the sun. White light solar observing is done with a full-aperture filter or a white light wedge. Hydrogen-Alpha is usually done with a dedicated Ha telescope. White light will allow you to view the solar photosphere, whereas Ha will focus more on the solar chromosphere, as well as flares and prominences.
Buy risk-free: When it’s time to trade up you’ll get the most value for your used gear.
