The 256MB DDR memory buffer is the main difference between ASI “Cool” and “Pro” version cameras. This memory buffer helps stabilize data transfer without the amp-glow issue caused by the slow speed data transfer of USB 2.0 ports.
The ASI1600 Pro offers very good performance for astrophotography. Low read noise, Low dark current, and high dynamic range. The QE peak value is more than 60% across pixels that are 3.8 microns square.
The ASI1600 Pro uses 4 screws to seal the chamber. This structure has been fully tested and is very stable and allows tilt adjustment on the camera itself, saving the trouble of altering your entire imaging train.
USB 3.0 port provides 5Gb bandwidth to make it possible for ASI1600 Pro to run at 14.7 fps (12bit, normal mode) or 19 fps (23bit, high speed mode) at full resolution(11.7MP).
We recommend 12V at 3A~5A or more DC adapter for cooler power supply (2.1*5.5, center positive). A 9-15V battery is also suitable for cooling power supply.
A built-in USB 2.0 Hub allows you to connect various accessories, such as a filter wheel, guide camera or electronic focuser for better cable management. There are 2 short, 0.5m USB2.0 cables included with the ASI1600 Pro. The hub is powered if 12V is supplied to the camera.
ASI1600 Pro has 2 stage TEC cooling system to enable very deep cooling (-40℃ below ambient). You need external power supply to power on the cooler.
