Description

The 2-inch SCT receiver is a simple solution for connecting the NextGEN and Lepus series telecompressors to a standard SCT 2-inch thread. 

Designed to screw directly on the back of a Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope (SCT), the #17401 will accept any 2-inch accessory including the NGM, NGW, NGUW, and new Lepus telecompressors.  As with the TCF-S focuser, a notch on the face exactly matches a machined brass screw on the telecompressor for easy alignment.  Whe removing and re-inserting the camera/telecomrpessor in the dark, rotational alignment can be maintained, - even in the dark.  The #17401 will also accept any 2-inch Drawtube Accessory or 2-inch eyepiece/ nosepiece.

By holding tight tolerances (+/- 0.003") Optec has achieved a slip-fit that is second-to-none.  When used with the any of the Optec telecompressors, the three thumbscrews on the receiver will exactly match the dovetail cut in the NextGEN telecompressor bodies.  By tightening the thumbscrews, the dovetail is drawn tighter to the face of the drawtube completely eliminating flexure.
