Overview

The Losmandy PLUS plates are designed to let you install your telescopes on mounts equipped with a Losmandy-style saddle. Like all the other elements of the PLUS series, these Losmandy-Style PLUS Plates are made with high mechanical precision (built with CNC machines from aluminum block) and specially designed to enable you to easily install other mechanical elements such as support rings, plates or dovetail clamps.

Description

The Losmandy-Style PLUS Plates are part of the PLUS (Prima Luce Universal System) which includes many guide rings, support rings, plates, adapters, and dovetail clamps to offer you the maximum freedom to build your mechanical system of support, depending on the application that you want to achieve. Indeed, all the PLUS elements have threaded holes, holes and slots suitable for connecting elements, always with maximum rigidity and comfort. Prima Luce designed many element for this purpose, including the Losmandy-Style PLUS Plates.

Each component of the PLUS system is made of aluminum blocks that are high precision CNC machined. The aluminum is then sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and protect it from oxidation.

Losmandy plate 140mm PLUS

The Losmandy plate 140mm PLUS is designed to let you install your telescopes on mounts with this plate. This plate is 140mm long and is useful for installing compact telescopes (as refractors up to 100mm in diameter) on mounts with Vixen plate (as the SkyWatcher SkyWatcher AZ-EQ6, or EQ8).

Losmandy plate 240mm PLUS

The Losmandy plate 240mm PLUS is designed to let you install your telescopes on mounts with this plate. This plate is 240mm long and is useful for installing medium dimensions telescopes (such as refractors up to 130mm and reflectors up to 200mm in diameter) on mounts with Losmandy plate (as the SkyWatcher AZ-EQ6, or EQ8).

Losmandy plate 350mm PLUS

The Losmandy plate 350mm PLUS is designed to let you install your telescopes on mounts with this plate. This plate is 350mm long and is useful for installing medium dimensions telescopes (such as refractors up to 120mm and Newton up to 250mm in diameter) on mounts with Losmandy plate (as the SkyWatcher AZ-EQ6, or EQ8).

Losmandy plate 495mm PLUS

The Losmandy plate 495mm PLUS is designed to let you install your telescopes on mounts with this connection. This plate is 495mm long and is useful for installing large dimensions telescopes (such as Newton up to 300mm in diameter) on mounts with Losmandy plate (as the SkyWatcher AZ-EQ6, or EQ8).

Thanks to the particular design, the Losmandy PLUS plates can be:

1. positioned below the support rings to install the telescope on mounts with Losmandy plate
2. installed above the support rings to increase the mechanical rigidity of the entire telescope (and allow you to attach other accessories such as guide rings to precisely adjust the position of the guide telescope).
3. used as a basis to create a side-by-side plate (which allows you to install two telescopes in parallel on a mount with a single Losmandy plate) together with 2 dovetail clamps PLUS.

In the picture above, the Losmandy plate 240mm PLUS is installed below 105mm PLUS support rings. Above the support rings the EAGLE is installed with 115mm PLUS guide rings. 

In the picture above, the Losmandy plate 350mm PLUS is installed below 145mm PLUS support rings. Above the support rings the EAGLE is installed. 

Specifications

If you have other brands mechanical accessories, you can still use all the elements of the PLUS system. Indeed we have provided a series of central slots that allow, for example, to fix on this plate support or guide rings through a screw.
