PLUS Risers for EAGLE CORE allow you to install, on the side of its body, the 80mm PLUS guide rings without them to touch the EAGLE CORE body. This way you can install the guide scope on the side and fix the DSLR camera with its photo lens on top. This is the way to use your DSLR camera to record long exposure astrophotography of deep-sky objects with autoguide and without a telescope!
Like all the other elements of the PLUS series, these risers are made with high mechanical precision (built with CNC machines from aluminum block) and specially designed to enable you to easily install other mechanical elements such as support rings, plates or dovetail clamps.
In order to use EAGLE CORE together with a telephoto lens (and guide scope in parallel) you have to add "140mm PLUS dovetail bar" to be connected under EAGLE CORE body, in order to install everything on the equatorial mount. In the upper part the Eagle Core has a 1 1/4" photo thread to connect a photo ball head and then the camera. If you have an heavy photo lens (for example with focal length higher than 200mm) you can add the "PLUS Vixen+Losmandy dovetail clamp". Then you can connect the "PLUS 90mm Vixen dovetail bar" under the camera and then connect everything in the dovetail clamp. The guide scope is installed, using the optional 80mm PLUS guide rings and PLUS risers, to be fixed on the side of EAGLE CORE.
The PLUS Risers are part of the PLUS (Prima Luce Universal System) which includes many guide rings, support rings, plates, adapters, and dovetail clamps to offer you the maximum freedom to build your mechanical system of support, depending on the application that you want to achieve. Indeed, all the PLUS elements have threaded holes, holes and slots suitable for connecting elements, always with maximum rigidity and comfort. Prima Luce designed many element for this purpose, including the PLUS Risers.
Each component of the PLUS system is made of aluminum blocks that are high precision CNC machined. The aluminum is then sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and protect it from oxidation.
